Genuinely, You get what you pay for with rain gear, cheap stuff wets out fast. Took a course for this and it clicked immediately. Get properly measured, most people wear a helmet a size too big.

Same boat here. Long time lurker here, Armor is only good if it stays in place, watch the fit at the elbows.

Quick thought, A good base layer does more than an expensive jacket in the cold. Did a similar trip near a weekend loop last year and the little stuff mattered most.
